PMAP-RAFI Tree Growing Project Sets Gears for Next Phase

October 1, 2018

The People Management Association of the Philippines (Cebu) continued to push through with their PMAP-RAFI Tree Growing Project 5. The association was able to move on to the third phase of their tree growing project in collaboration with RAFI One to Tree.

Their earliest partnership with RAFI One to Tree started back in October 2017 and continues to this day. To date, PMAP has fully completed one tree growing project namely PMAP-RAFI Tree Growing Project 3, while their progress on Project 4 is still up for validation.

They donated ₱394,688.37 for the native tree growing efforts in Project 3 & 4. The association achieved commendable feats when the final rundown of their planted seedlings totaled 3,650. Project 3 & 4 had a survival rate of 91% and 90% respectively. The project covered 6 hectares of land across the areas of Mulao, Compostela and Bonbon, Cebu City.

Now they are readying their gears to begin the next project. Since movement is still limited due to pandemic-related travel restrictions, the PMAP-RAFI One to Tree team has to stick to online planning first before they can begin to mobilize their chosen communities.

One to Tree, a program of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., offers community-based and environmentally appropriate tree growing services.
